Tracy Pattin: Resume
For 20 years San Francisco was home. I got my college degree at San
Francisco State and lived in only two apartments the entire time- Two
of my biggest commitments. Because of traveling, I always had a hard
time finding my place in the "real" world of 9-5 regular jobs,
so I waitressed, catered, taught improv to kids, directed Murder Mysteries
for corporate functions and managed fundraiser events.
My voiceover career was very part time and I managed to write a play
and get it produced and do some spokesperson work for the pharmaceutical
industry. As varied and interesting as all this was, something was missing.
I needed to change my life.
As friends got husbands and kids and moved out of San Francisco, I found
myself to be in a rare breed of the perennial single woman. I was never
really searching for this conventional life although if the right man
came along…but he didn't. There were two things that scared me the most;
a 9-5 job and moving out of San Francisco.
In 2002, I did both. And I did the unthinkable (according to many San
Franciscans). I moved to Los Angeles and started a brand new life. Then
I faced my other biggest fear; the 9-5 job. This was an adventure I'd
never taken and turned out to be the best thing I'd ever done, inspiring
me to write theYES!book. And now, it's that time again.
After 4 years, I'm about to leave that 9-5 job. I have no idea what's
next. And the adventure continues.
